ADHD Assessment & Treatment

ADHD assessment and treatment at Calm Harbor Behavioral Health is designed for adults who are tired of feeling scattered, disorganized, or constantly behind despite their best efforts. Many of our patients have long blamed themselves for missed deadlines, unfinished projects, or forgetfulness, without realizing that untreated ADHD may be part of the picture.

We begin with a detailed diagnostic interview that explores your childhood history, school and work performance, daily routines, and patterns of attention, restlessness, and impulsivity. We also carefully consider anxiety, depression, and stress, since these can mimic or overlap with ADHD. The goal is to understand your experience in context, not just check off symptoms on a list.

Assessment often includes structured questionnaires and a thoughtful review of both strengths and challenges. By the end of this process, we discuss clearly whether ADHD is a likely diagnosis, what that means in everyday terms, and how it may be affecting your career, relationships, and self-esteem.

If ADHD is confirmed, we work together to develop a treatment plan that fits real life. This may involve medication, practical strategies for organizing tasks and time, and CBT-informed approaches to manage procrastination, perfectionism, and negative self-talk. We also address sleep, routines, and environmental adjustments that can make focus and follow-through much more manageable.

All appointments are conducted through secure telehealth, allowing you to join from home, work, or another private space. You will meet with the same board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner over time, so you do not have to repeatedly retell your story. The aim is for you to feel more in control of your day, more confident in your abilities, and less defined by years of frustration or self-blame.
